What is DAC7?

DAC7 EU Council Directive 2021/514, is an EU law requiring platform operators such as Homestay.com to collect and report information on certain sellers ‘reportable sellers’ transacting business through the Homestay.com platform to the Irish Revenue Commissioners. The Irish Revenue Commissioners will then share this information with the tax authorities from other EU member states. The purpose of DAC7 is to increase transparency of income earned through digital platforms such as Homestay.com.

Further information on DAC7 is available on the Irish Revenue Commissioners website.

DAC7 is an annual reporting obligation, meaning Homestay.com is required by law to file a DAC7 return annually. Your income and information in respect of 2023 will be shared in January 2024 and annually thereafter.
