Third time visit to Iran

Iolanda from Portugal recently travelled to Iran for the third time. Having been to Iran twice before on organised tours she decided to try a different approach this time. She had started to learn Farsi so wanted to meet more Iranians to practise with. Staying in a homestay allowed her to be in close contact with local people (her hosts, their friends as well as their neighbours), which ended up being one of the aspects she liked most.

Cambodia: Slice of Khmer culture and village life

Laura and Taj and from the United States travelled to Cambodia and were in the Siem Reap area to explore the Angkor temples and Tonle Sap. They wanted to stay in a homestay to learn more about Cambodian and Khmer culture. Homestay Host Pheaktra was a perfect way for them to see real Cambodian village life as she is a kindergarten teacher as well as a local tour guide.

Farmstay in Vinales, Cuba

Nina and Michael from Germany travelled with their 18 month old daughter to Cuba. They wanted to learn about the agricultural way of life. They stayed with host Miguel on his farm. He grows mangos, oranges, lemons, tangerines, pineapples, bananas, coconut, guavas and coffee. He also grows lots of vegetables and medicinal plants.
